Great food. Reasonable prices. I work nearby on 103th-ish and roe so I usually call and place an order. They usually get here in 20mins or so. I would like to order online but for some reason it wont let me even though it is in the 2-3 mile radius because of that ill give them only 4 stars because i would rather place my orders online instead of calling. Besides that Im happy with sun rice and usually recommend them to my customer who live in the area. Thanks!

Sun Rice has quickly become our favorite Chinese takeout & delivery place. The service is very fast, but the food doesn't taste fast or like it was hurriedly put together or has been sitting under a heat lamp. It's all very fresh and delicious. The crab Rangoon are the best around- they actually have crab in them. It's imitation- but still that's more than I can say for most Chinese restaurants. They're also absolutely stuffed to the brim with melty cream cheese and pineapple bits- so yummy. We always get the Sha Cha chicken skewers as an appetizer too. Sometimes the chicken is a bit dry, but the sauce they come with is delicious- and there's plenty to pour on other dishes. The beef & broccoli is loaded with freshly steamed broccoli- I swear there's a whole head of the veggie in there! The lettuce wraps are a standout too, and I'm in love with the Black Bean Stirfry and the Mongolian Flavor- which I usually have them add chicken to. It's served on a bed of the most delicious crispy noodles in a wonderful brown garlic sauce. Sun Rice is housed in a non-descript, boring looking strip mall, but the food is anything but boring.

DELICIOUS! Got some of the best crab rangoons and chicken steamed dumplings I've ever had- and I'm pretty picky! The egg roll was also great and so was the veggie fried rice (a little dry but still good). Got everything but the rice as a "Monday special"- amazing deal! Even the rice wasn't the expensive. Overall, amazing deal. My only semi-qualm with this place was delivery took a little longer than said but it was worth it! Will definitely come back here again!

Tried this place for the first time last night. I thought it was an eat in restaurant but it's just for pickup/delivery. We went ahead and ordered takeout and actually it was only a 15 min wait. Really nice family working there and the kitchen is very clean. Brought the food home and wow delicious is an understatement. The Lo Mein, the chicken teriyaki, and chicken in black bean sauce were all so good. Call them asap for your next Chinese food craving. I'm so glad they're in the neighborhood.

Friendly voice on the phone took my delivery order efficiently. The food was great: hot & sour soup, mushu pork, and fried potstickers for one in a hotel. Delivered to my room with a smile. I enjoyed my Sun Rice dinner. Ate the leftovers for breakfast before checking out. Definitely going to order here again if I am back in town. Thank you for caring about the quality of food & customer service.

Great flavor, service, and quality of ingredients. Only fail here was their fried rice (you have to put veggies and eggs in there!)

Hi, we love having food brought directly to our door when we're too lazy to figure out what should be done about dinner. Surprisingly, we all tried different dishes (which we never do with Chinese...) and were all silent, or appropriately moaning. It's ridiculous that we've been here a week and ordered from the same Chinese place twice. It's almost 4 in the morning and I want to order it right now. Does Kansas City do that? 24/7 delivery places? Gotta have more. ALTHOUGH! The fortunes are never really fortunes, or the syntax is embarrassing to the point of not making actual sense. Fix that and I'll invest in this place. (No I won't.)

It wasn't the best but it wasn't the worst.. I have definitely had better. Although the delivery was a little late, the food was still very hot, which was a plus. Their really wasn't that great of flavor when we ordered the general's chicken and the hunan chicken. The only pro i can think of is that it was still quicker than other chinese restaurants despite the tardiness of their promised time frame for delivery and the fact that you can order online for take-out and delivery. Overall, nothing great..

I was very excited when this new Chinese restaurant went in my neighborhood and I finally got to try them this week. I am happy to say I will be back! Here's the breakdown: crab rangoon - $1 each, but good size and crab was visible in the cream cheese, tasty -but more than I usually like to pay and only come in a pack of 2. Spring rolls - ground pork, a little greasy for me but my kids loved them and the dipping sauce was good, almost vinegary but an interesting flavor. Hot and sour soup - not much heat which is fine with me, but others may find it rather tame, excellent flavor otherwise and lots of goodies! General Tso's Chicken - my standard, it claims all white meat and that was very true and a nice surprise, lots of meat and not too much breading (which is my usual complaint of a tiny nugget of mystery meat surrounded by tons of fried bread) so I was very happy. No broccoli just meat and sauce - but you can get just stir fried broccoli if you want separately. Just enough heat for me and they also offer the choice of white or fried rice - since we were getting two entrees we got one of each and they were both excellent. Finally was the mongolian flavor - we opted for beef, the meat was a nice quality - certainly better than most, not too chewy and the 'flavor' was excellent and reminded me of Mu Shu (which they also offer and i will probably get next time) lots of garlic and shallots. It's take-out or delivery only. We had it delivered, they quoted 25-30min and it arrived in 20min. There is an extra $1.50 fee for delivery, but the food was hot and fresh when we got it so I was very happy. It was $30 total but we had enough food left over for dinner again a few days later. They also have a nice lunch special. If you live in the area - I'd give them a try. They are certainly the best I have found in my neighborhood and I will be using them as my go to Chinese take out from now on.

Blech! Well, I guess I should've read the Yelp reviews real good. I was hot, tired, and wanted to sit down and be served. I found this place on Yelp, it looked cute in the picture, and it was near where I was doing business. I walked into restaurant, and...there's just a counter, and a stove and cooking counter, and a bathroom. 100 degrees outside...No Air. No menu on the wall, I had to stammer and look at the menu or what I wanted. No where whatsoever to sit down, instead of bother with a Yelp review, I should've left. The clerk didn't seem too concerned, and I looked on the wall for a menu, and realized I had to use a take out menu to order from. I ordered broccoli and chicken for me, and steamed dumplings and sweet and sour chicken for my son. I paid. The clerk (who was also one the cooks), said it'e be 20 minutes...at this point, I should've gotten up and left, because I had to sit in the windowstill, waiting, in a very hot room. While waiting, and waiting, I watched the owner, (I suppose it's the owner), eat something out of something. (I hope it wasn't my food). I saw the guy at the counter make part of my meal. I heard a micro wave running, and I sat and sweated some more. I waited some more, and I went on Facebook on my phone. Then I waited some more, and wished I had walked out. But I finally got my food, and then I realized the godforsaken drive I still had with it all the way home. I never eat past 6:00, and well, thanks to Sun Rice I did tonight. Never ever again. When I got home and opened it, the broccoli chicken tasted like it was floating in weak chicken broth. It was still warm, though. I don't like Chinese food floating in thin broth, blech. I think they forgot the thickening agent. The dumplings were about like anything else, and the sauce with it tasted like soy sauce with ginger in it. My son's meal looks pretty good, I got it for him to eat later. Seriously , I should've gone to Blue Koi. For 23.00 for both me and my son, I expected better tasting food. I could've sat down, be served, have good food, and only pay about 5 or 6 dollars more. Blech, I won't be going to this place any more. I mean, where is the taste? It's not in the food I bought home.

I tried this new place from a deal off of Morgan's list and was very happy with it. I ordered the Kung Pao Shrimp & Shrimp Fried Rice. I also got egg rolls and crab rangoons. The egg rolls were decent, but nothing spectacular. The crab rangoons were great, nicely filled and flavored. Both Shrimp dishes were excellent. They had large full shrimp in them and not just a few, there were a lot of them. My wife and I really enjoyed it and had enough left for lunch the next day. The place is small and only does pickup or delivery. The staff were pleasant and accommodating over the phone and in person. It would be nice if they included some egg drop soup or Hot & Sour soup with the dinner meal like some other Chinese places do for the same price. But the quality of food was much better so I'll take the abundance of shrimp over a bowl of soup any day.

Wanted to try a new delivery place, as we usually get wok-n-roll, and this one had online ordering (MAJOR PLUS!) I love that they have specials M-W. I wish they had some every day. First of all, their dumplings are delicious. They are not wrapped in gobs and gobs of doughy dough, They are neatly sealed in 1 wrapper, and are the perfect size. I also enjoy their egg rolls, which I normally do not like. The cabbage is not overwhelming at all. Their thai rolls are interesting. It's almost like a sweet potato wrapper. Not a big of of the chicken skewers. Not bad, just not great. Their crab-ran-goon is pretty standard fare, except I think they use a bit of pineapple in them, which I could do without. I love their lo-mein. It's not usually my go-to dish, but always is here. Lot's of flavor, and a whole lot of food, so lots of leftovers. Their cashew chicken was different. It was pieces of white meat chicken with veggies and whole cashwes in a white ginger sauce. Definitley not like other cashew chicken I have had, which is usually in a brown sauce. It wasn't what I was expecting, but it was good none the less. I would review other things, but I've been on their lo-mein for a while and can't remember most of it! The last thing you need to know about this place is that their delivery driver's are awesome. The food is always hot, they are very polite, and they keep the food in an insulated cooler. We've had the same driver every time but once, and he is always wonderful!

This is our go to delivery place. Wonderful service and the food is great. Our top pick are the dumplings. Their plum sauce is flavorful on anything. Love the fact they offer GRILLED chicken on a couple of dishes. We have not had next day regrets at all.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
